Edward formed his first original music trio 30 years ago. Since then members, styles and locations have changed but as satisfied and astonished audiences worldwide will testify, the music has remained top quality. Its a music very difficult to catagorise; some fans describe it as powerful, rocky, and incredibly groovy - but at the same time gentle, light, and exotic. Most admirers are wondering why the Edward Powell trio has not been recognise much more than it has been, but such is often the case with 'true quality' music. Though still unsigned that didn't stop Edward from releasing 3 trio albums since Y2K; Friedsitar - FRESH, BLUESAND, and SPIRITDANCE, each is a unique masterpiece in its own right, showing Edward's gradual evolution from Rock to Blues, Jazz to Indian music, and Middle-Eastern to African music. There are few musicians today with as wide and rich a musical background.
