Edward's seminars are something totally unique in the academic world today, since he has found a way to connect the two most widespread modal systems of Indian and the Middle-East; ragas and makams. Edward spent years in those regions engaged in in-depth study with several renowned masters, in particular Sri Budhaditya Mukherjee (sitar) and Necati Celik (oud). Through his study and research Edward began to recognize many astonishing similarities between ragas and makams, especially in their fundamental structure.

Over the years Edward has given seminars in many countries. In Roma in 1999 he was the first musician to be granted permission to teach Indian music in an Italian conservatory.
